I still do own 5-6 Langes, one from each family, but I have let go of a couple along the way, including the OG PLM tourbillon. I just do not think Lange is as good as everyone, especially some bloggers made them out to be. They are not as accurate, quality control is not perfect either. Once received a brand new piece that had the sapphire case back fall out upon removal of the stickers on delivery.
You touched on the case, I just want to add on that the case finishing is not as consistent, probably because they outsource to 3-5 different brands to manufacture them. But I guess if Lange were as perfectionistic about their watches, they would apply the final finishing to their cases to ensure consistent quality.
There is no criticism for most of their movement architecture, the Datograph movement will awe both seasoned watch collectors and new ones alike. But upon close inspection, in my own opinion, Lange's finishing is not as good as Patek's grand complication. Lange's minute repeater is also often faulty, sounds uninspiring with too many weird pauses between notes. Double and triple splits are technically amazing but simply unwearable.
I don't know, this is a brand I grew up loving and admiring so much, but have dramatically lost its edge and lustre in my opinion.
