Not just finishing, or engineering, which Lange is all about.
A top tier brand needs, different cases, great mechanical performance, I feel that Lange in a way is a one trick pony.
I don’t want to putt the brand down because it has its fans and that’s fine, they are nice watches, they’re just not that fine.
To me Vacheron is far superior, it’s the whole package, every model line has a different case, moment with pretty impressive finishing.
Off course Patek is above all, because in the high complications, no one can touch they’re expertise.
Breguet, also as of late is doing a great job.
To answer your other question, I started with a L1 yellow Gold, two years after the brand came back, it didn’t performed as I expected, then I bought another one in WG , then a L1 Platinum moon phase, a Datograph Platinum, then a L1 Darth.
Again not bad brand, but in my opinion in that price range there’s way better options.
To me watch firstly has to be wearable not just complicated, it has to be discrete, and artistic...
