The WS April event title is "Honoring Captain Scarlett" and it is Open Now!
Hello dear friends!
As announced past Wednesday the WS Team has decided to pay tribute to our dear friend Captain Scarlett dedicating this edition to his memory.
Just a week ago our Community was shocked with the sad news of the passing of our dear Captain. A true gentleman, a fine collector with a great taste, a pillar of our Forum and a good friend we lost.
He was supposed to host this April WS event and I will take the helm in this occassion with a broken heart.
As the host, I´m inviting our participants to share a watch (or watches) which they feel it reminds our dear Captain.
His beautiful collection was eclectic as it included both modern and vintage watches from many brands like Patek, Rolex, Omega, Panerai, etc. as well as independents, and including different types of wristwatches: chronos, divers, World timers, GMTs or plain no-complication watches.
This April edition of WS is lacking the charm of the beautiful posters the Captain produced during many years and used to announce the different editions. Posters he created with much love and creativity based on pictures the hosts in charge sent to him in advance.
My opening double wrist shot was taken during our unforgettable meeting with him and his lovely wife in Barcelona in 2019 and shows his favorite Speedmaster ref. 105.012 CB case on his wrist.
Partipants can post their entries in this same thread now, remembering there are four classic categories:
Best Wrist Shot
Best Static Shot
Best Classic watch shot
and Best Watch of the Month (BWOM) to be chosen among all pictures received.
Event will end on Sunday night and Veredicts will be announced during Monday with the kind and valuable help of my dear friends Dr.No and KMII which I appreciate so much.
The April event is Open Now and we look forward to receive many great entries with beautiful watches reminding our nice and loved friend: Captain Scarlett.
