Ha ha ha!! Agree about the saying : "A family that shares Rolexes together..." Lol! This type of dial with Roman numbers is known today among collectors as "Buckley dials"...

... after certain John Buckley owner of a watch shop who sold many of these so equipped dials. These dials were not very popular in the 1980´s but for some reason have caught some interest among Rolex DJ collectors nowadays.
Interesting to know your cousing Vic received a DJ with a similar dial. I´m sure his wife Doreen must be enjoying this piece so much.
As another detail of interest of my Dad´s watch, you may see that it is a two tone watch but is fitted to an all steel Jubilee bracelet.
Reason is that when I bought it to present it to my Dad, my budget was enough only for an all steel watch but the AD owner offered me to get a bit more bling TT watch at an affordable price with this all steel bracelet to keep price lower. It makes clear that in the 1980's things were completely different than today at least with the Rolex brand!! Lol!
Best cordial regards, Abel.
