Hello dear Art! Great Theme and a great opening post both moving and interesting to read the stories behind these beautiful watches.

My Dad loved watches but he owned only two. He was specially fond of Rolex brand and he instilled me that love for the brand since I was a lad.
I remember being with him in February 1966 when he bought his first Rolex, a Datejust at an AD in Miami, Fl. Can´t forget his smile when we left the shop with him wearing that watch!
Regrettably that beloved watch was stolen to him in a Metro station here in my Country in early 1980's. So I presented him with another Datejust I bought brand new at a local AD to replace the lost one. He was very happy with it and wore this watch everyday in spite of his bad experience with the first one.
When he passed away 22 years ago, my mother presented my son with my Dad´s Cartier Santos, and she presented me my Dad´s Rolex. I don´t wear it very often because I´m afraid of having it stolen and I expect to pass this watch to my son.
I got two other watches from my Dad: A pocket watch which belonged to his grand father, and a watch I still treasure so much: a humble Liga watch given my my parents for my first Comunion in 1957. I was so proud with that first watch! It resisted an adventurous life of the 9 years old child I was then till I arrived to my 16th birthday and got a diving watch to replace it.
The watch I would present my Dad today? As you well say: what I wouldn´t give to be able to share a watch with my Dad! I´m sure he would love so much to receive as present and wear my Ceramic GMT!
Thank you for this wonderful Theme full of love and nostalgia dear Art!
Happy Fathers Day to all Dad´s in our Community! Hagwe. Abel

My first watch given by Mom and Dad for my first Comunion in 1957. Still have it! Unknown brand and humble little watch is priceless for me!
