Grandpa’s Omega.

This was his daily wearer for I’m guessing 20-something years. The watch eventually broke and was replaced by a gold tone Seiko S2 quartz.
The watch was languishing at my dad’s house when we spotted it while going through some papers and other stuff. Dad told me I could have it if I got it fixed. That was several years ago. I don’t wear it very often but I try to at least wind it up every few weeks.
While his story is far from unique, Grandpa came to the US with nothing to make a better life for himself and his family, which eventually included me.
The watch needs a new strap to go with the OEM buckle I got online (thanks to Dr. No for finding it and bringing it to my attention!). Here’s a shot of the watch “in situ” as previously posted.
Cheers and Happy Father’s Day.
