Great to hear you like Nat Geo too
Aug 22, 2021,17:14 PM
I subscribed to Disney+ and ended up watching the Nat Geo content on it more. Lots of great shows to pass the time in this lonesome lockdown.
I try to live an adventurous life as much as time allows, usually with a weekend swim in the sea (3km or so) or sometimes, scuba diving (I had to purchase my own equipment so I can live my fantasies of being an aquanaut), Funny thing is, I like to dress for the adventure with the right tools. Many would advice me to rent vs buy, but they don't understand that the "uniform" is very important in this "adventurer" fantasy. Maybe watch collecting has a parallel to this.
I saw a parallel today, in a few youtube bloggers for high-end cameras. I noticed 2 different bloggers wearing Rolex, and they even use rubber straps/NATOs on their pieces. They are not the prima-donna yuppies type of bloggers, but rather, the greying eminence adventurer-army type, who happened to do a review on some Leica cameras. They looked cool.
Lemme share with you how my uniforms are:
Swimming:
Full Shark Deterrent Tech Suit (wetsuit that is banded black and white), Sharkshield (an electrical tail which sharks dislike)
Scuba Diving:
Full thickness neoprene suit, neoprene hood, BCD, Fins with boots, Titanium knife, and a choice of mechanical dive watches to choose from
Hiking:
Dedicated hiking boots, extendable walking stick. swiss army knife (I don't know why I bring it), sunglasses, backpack with water and snacks, panama hat, Nikon Monarch binoculars
Do you do this too? I'm sure many members here are quite similar.
