Considering how many pubs I've been in, I have surprisingly few photos

of myself in there, or wearing a watch. It must have been the smoke, or maybe the drinks being splashed about?
This is a favorite photo showing all the watches we brought on a trip. Only Mrs Cazalea and I are in the photo.
IF watches are being shown off, then I would submit that your timepiece needs an easy ON/OFF clasp to avoid damage or dropping.
For example these guys were brutal with the NATO straps
And this guy dropped a few as we waited in the very modern lounge for our table
There's always a risk of drink or food being splashed or smashed on the precious watch, so I try to avoid soft gold or delicate watches in the bar
Scotland is worst because of (a) the serious drinkers and (b) the messy seafood
But anywhere you go drinking there are likely to be folks who say "Gimme that thing, let me see, you don't mind if I try it on?" while actually you do mind very much but can't say so for fear of being rude.
And if it's a particularly delicate and rare watch they will want a photo of it on their arm or something like that!
Of course who wants to be a wet blanket and refuse?
So I have decided the Breitling Aerospace is the ideal pub watch
- Titanium (seriously able to withstand abuse)
- Beverage resistance of 100M or 100 beers, whichever comes first
- Chronometer accuracy for getting that last call order in
- Deployant buckle with safety catch for quick and safe removal and reapplication to the wrist
- Lume and great visibility (whether you are in the bar or in the pub garden) for surreptious glances to see which appointment you are going to be late for...
- In addition, the Aerospace it anti-magnetic and shock-resistant, which is great for when it gets dropped on the table or the floor!
- Finally, when you walk (stumble) from the pub in a daze and the whole world looks a bit upside down, you can readily see if you put your Aerospace back on your wrist RIGHT SIDE UP.
(even IF the d@^% one-way rotating bezel is impossible to get straight up w/o 3 or 4 rotations!)
