The CDV is on my list. Have wanted one for quite some times but other projects have gotten in the way. In the interim
the price has increased significantly sadly. But will search for one.
As far as case material on this particular piece I am not in favor of the “new” material. This is part of the historique series and as such I think it should be presented with classic material for cases. Yellow gold yes or white gold maybe.

What I specially like on the Hodinkee edition is the pulsometer scale
I think it's more suited on this watch than the tachymeter A fantastic doctor's watch with the pulsometer 😄
Now you’re talking! When you say more affordable do you mean another brand all together or a metal selection making the VC more affordable?
The Hodinkee and gold version are nice as they have contrast. The steel version is almost impossible to read time in person
Pt is my favorite
I find the color palette the most attractive compared to other models. It is a tiny watch, I think Ti would end up being too light, especially considering there is no rotor. Tantalum is an interesting thought!

For that reason, I'd propose a Hodinkee-esq version in steel to balance cost and value. The Special dial would be more desirable than a custom metal (to me). As the standard Pink Gold is now $64K it runs away quite quickly with some custom dials.

I need a Cornes de Vache by Vacheron Constantin one day. Such a beautiful and timeless design. I envy those who has one of these!

Wei Koh's is the only Yellow Gold CDV I know of and is a killer. Do a dark grey / chalkboard dial, the dots indexes, pulsation scale and a Breguet 12 and 6 please... ...

My heart said “platinum”; my budget screamed “steel!” ...
I had tried to get the grey hodinkee version from EWC…
but couldn’t make price work. I haven’t seen any more of these on offer since the past few years. A tantalum version would be great, but it depends more on the dial. A darker color like blue would be needed with a tantalum case.

One area I like Les Historiques more is the dial. More specifically, the metal rings around the sub dials and the tachymeter on the main dial really gives the watch a soft sheen and 3 dimensionality. I wish VC could update CdV’s dial similarly. ...
