i do like the VC, just i felt the pricing is a bit high - but in today's 'steel fever' around - i could hardly argue !

There will always be a good market for the Hodinkee version I think and if not, what the hell?! It’s still a great watch that I love. So there!

Too little umph, panage, verve and nobility in steel. One of the very few chronos in the entire market with correct scaling! Langes also. Pateks? .....

Your photo really shows off the dial of this steel version. The CdV is lovely in steel, gold and Platinum. Cheers, respo

I love the CdV. But there have been and continue to be other VC priorities for me. And the trouble is the best version is the Hodinkee gray dial with pulsation scale, or would be sans the Hodinkee engraving. ;-)

. But it’s overpriced IMHO. For that price, I’d do with an 1815 chrono from Lange, for the precious metal and for the truly-in-house and much-prettier movement. But that’s just my take. This watch will, undoubtedly, sell like hot cakes

Lange is $51,500 and this is $39,800 - that is a big price difference. If you mean "I would prefer a Lange 1815 second hand used" - well then we have to compare to what this goes for used as well. We are in an era where, for watches like this, steel is th...

I wonder about your statements about the latest arrival. Some seem to think a steel version should be limited to 36 pcs.? Even if VC would limited the production to such an extreme point - do you really think they should dedicate this to HD - for me that'...  

SS in limited production is something I don’t see happening nor can I understand the benefit of it. Entry models must have higher volumes, the accumulated profit on higher volume but more standard pieces, funds development of higher end complicated models... 

I guess the dials are usually supplied parts. Therfore I would suggest they should order smaller batches - to get more variety to allow customers to have the choice out of the finished selection of a limited production runs. Closer to the offer structure ...
