Hi, I’m indeed not surprised you favor the colored gold versions haha.
And I’m halfway with you as I like rose gold a lot, but I also like platinum very much.
I try to match the model of the watch to the occasion but typically select rose gold or platinum or steel to the outfit I’m wearing
Today for instance I’m shortly leaving for a informal meeting with some government representatives (out here Sunday is normal working day) I’m wearing green trousers white shirt beige jacket
I selected the VC Harmony Calendar as it matches the occasion and the rose gold goes perfect with the green and beige.
Yet on other occasions platinum is the perfect choice.

you're much wiser man Ed...i agree Vacheron is sensual and speaks to the heart but Lange in general is cold and restrained...
i do like the VC, just i felt the pricing is a bit high - but in today's 'steel fever' around - i could hardly argue !

Ah! You must be an avocat! Well, I am one of the Hodinkee owners and do not feel bad. This is different and not limited.
There will always be a good market for the Hodinkee version I think and if not, what the hell?! It’s still a great watch that I love. So there!

Hodinkee LE in steel which was priced higher than this one.
The Hodinkee version had a pulsometer
while this version has a tachymeter. Not sure if that difference is significant enough.

Too little umph, panage, verve and nobility in steel. One of the very few chronos in the entire market with correct scaling! Langes also. Pateks? .....

I love the CdV. But there have been and continue to be other VC priorities for me. And the trouble is the best version is the Hodinkee gray dial with pulsation scale, or would be sans the Hodinkee engraving. ;-)

. But it’s overpriced IMHO. For that price, I’d do with an 1815 chrono from Lange, for the precious metal and for the truly-in-house and much-prettier movement. But that’s just my take. This watch will, undoubtedly, sell like hot cakes

SS in limited production is something I don’t see happening nor can I understand the benefit of it. Entry models must have higher volumes, the accumulated profit on higher volume but more standard pieces, funds development of higher end complicated models...
