Black dials

There seems to be a chronograph from the 1940's in the museum that has a black dial which they say is original. Other than that, in my 25 years of intensely following the market, and collecting, no, I've never seen an original black dial. Or even many black re-dials. Which is odd, because they are breath takingly beautiful. I think it was the 1960's or 1970's before they had them in production.
The watch you linked to, I remember that auction and how stunned I was at the price it brought. If it's real, it's a unicorn.
Maybe Dean can ask the company and see if they have anything to offer in this regard. (not holding my breath) Also, they seem to have little information on watches of this era. (from my own interactions)
