Both the cat (understandably) and my kids are oblivious to this. When I try to tell my kids to appreciate such things, they roll their eyes in a '...walking uphill both ways in the snow to get to school' sort of way. I console myself that someday they'll figure it out when they're living on hot dogs and ramen noodles in college...then again those college days are fun memories too even with the endless supply of hot dogs!

I remember my college days...
And those college days really made me realize the comforts of home. And I appreciated the basic necessities in life more. One day they'll realize it too!

Mine will stare out into the night from the window, and I try to pick up on a hint of anything that she may be focused on. It’s their patience, discipline, precision, and machine-like efficiency that intrigue me the most.
