The extensive use of gold flakes does not make it the best! To be honest, the ingredients do not look that great (the uni for example), and the maki techniques look amateurish. I certainly hope LA can offer better.  The Shirako looks terrible !  And served with wasabi ? Hmmm..... 

No disrespect. I come from a family of restauranteurs, my mother having opened the first ever Japanese restaurant in Britain many decades ago. 
I think you need to try Kubei in Tokyo, or Shiraishi in Singapore to get some perspective. 
But you certainly got me hungry !
