TimeOut

but on a digital signal...?

you're sending a bunch of 010101010 down the cable, wouldn't it just be a matter of the cable actually being able to carry the signal from your tv to your blue ray and that's it?

would a pure digital signal really be that susceptible in a 4ft distance that you'll actually notice pixilation on your tv between a super insulated cable and a $10 one?

as to the connectors -- how often do you plug and unplug these cables between your tv and a component?  once in a lifetime?  whatever gold that's plated on the cheap cable probably won't wear out on the one initial plug into the tv.

i know, personally, best buy has a huge, and i mean huge (~300%+) markup on these cables.  to me, it reminds me of of shops that change car oil that will try to sell you $50 worth of synthetic every 3K miles when your owner's manual specifically states that 5w-20 is to be used anywhere between 5-10K miles.

i don't think it's like comparing a hamilton to a simplicity and saying "they both tell time".

comparing the 4$ to a 70$ is probably a bad example here, but a 19.99$ vs 70$ would probably have been more to the point.
