The reason that your AD gave you is ridiculous.

That would never happen with Omega or Breitling, I would imagine, unless it was a rare solid gold watch perhaps. How about foregoing the 'new' mentality and buy 'like new' or 'mint', there are so many out there waiting to get 'adopted'! =:^D

You should let the Rolex Co. to know about this practice. It´s simple abusive and you shouldn't just let this through. Even if I haven´t bought not a pencil from them, if I wanted a Daytona my AD wouldn't hesitate to put me in the (looong) list;... 

I would change AD- you should be treated right. It is understandable for an AD to reserve some watches for regular and good customers but you should not be forced to buy a watch just to be placed on a list- especially when you just bought a watch a month ... 

PinkPanter is correct, this is absolute blackmail. There's an SS Daytona here in Orange County, California at the local Rolex Boutique in the window, without markup, without having you must buy another watch.
