The reality is, now that I've found a Rolex that matches my yellow pants, I don't wanna let it go...;-))

Hello Stella, where have you been all this time.

 By: Jay (Eire) : August 31st, 2020-16:32
I don’t know about you guys and gals, but this is the most exciting news from Rolex for me tonight. A nod to the Stellas of the past, which have of course risen in popularity and price exponentially in recent years. I think this is a good move. The solid ...

Me too. [nt]

I like them more than the Subs.

 By: Tim_M : August 31st, 2020-17:08
And I look forward to reading the official Rolex names for these dial colors. Those tend to be fun and occasionally out of character for the brand. Best, Tim

Cheers ! I didn’t notice.

I’m really intrigued to see these, they could be really fun. The red has caught my eye but it may be too strong.

I agree I like these so much. I love the 41mm case with the new movement

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : August 31st, 2020-17:43
And quite like the new color. I like the red, green, pink and yellow!

Agree. I think there is something here that will grab many collectors and buyers attention.

 By: Jay (Eire) : September 2nd, 2020-03:35
And good to see the refresh with the new movement too.

Spoke to my Rolex AD yesterday and will get one from his first batch (ETA unknown)...

Since I like several of the new dial, will likely choose base on the one he receive and how they feel in the flesh!

Oh no...that double baton at 3-6-9 again...I wish they got rid of those.

 By: hoseachandra : August 31st, 2020-18:04
Do they have new caliber (3232)? Thanks

Thanks Jay. Curiously why they opt for 3230, not 3232.

 By: hoseachandra : August 31st, 2020-18:41
If i'm not mistaken, the 3132 has paraflex shock absorber (denoted by "2" at the end). While the 3130 does not have. So the 3230 still does not have the paraflex, or this is a "re-coding" the caliber name?

3230 is the same as the no date Sub.

 By: Jay (Eire) : August 31st, 2020-18:49
I don’t know the technical details, but it seems you are right that the 3230 does not have the paraflex.

These are great

Every female in my family wants the Tiffany blue and I’ve never seen them get excited about the novelties before

+1 on the Tiffany color...

 By: Clueless_Collector : August 31st, 2020-19:20
My boss is a Tiffany & Co fan so it's worth taking a look, so is the Coral Red, follow by Yellow. I noticed many brands are releasing colorful models this year, perhaps due to the gloomy year.

Meh?

 By: Larry Seiden : August 31st, 2020-19:51
I have to say I’m surprised how little chatter there is about the new Rolexes. Is the general consensus: Meh?

I feel like I am watching a video of Duran Duran, circa 1984

Still, it's good to have variety. It looks like the case of the OP36 has been reprofiled, very much like that of the DJ36 126,XXX. Until now, they had a case with thicker lugs, like the previous generation of DJ36 116,000. Altogether, this looks really go...

This is what also got me excited

I hope this is a harbinger for the return of stone dials on the daydates. Hoping for a lapis lazuli DD40 in the coming years.

Yes, exactly this. Stone dials more widely available would be an obvious next move.

 By: Jay (Eire) : September 1st, 2020-04:58
However, I would expect that to be in the higher end pieces like the Day Date.

Love these

 By: keks : September 1st, 2020-01:27
I personally have a soft spot for the yellow dial... but would love to see more photos of the green as it seem to differ quite a bit on the few snaps I have seen compared to the official rendition... the red and turquoise is very compelling as well! Looki...

Yes please

Can you make it happen?

Swedish Edition. ;) [nt]

 By: amanico : September 1st, 2020-13:05

There’s definitely some strong reaction on these, but I’m with you. Love them.

 By: Jay (Eire) : September 1st, 2020-05:01
Need to see more pictures and maybe in person as I’d like the Green but I’m not sure. The Red, Yellow and the Turquoise are also interesting to me.

Exactly the same for me. [nt]

 By: amanico : September 1st, 2020-05:21

I am sure you saw already...

 By: keks : September 1st, 2020-05:55
But the photo on the green appears quite different from official rendition: Pic credit Rolexpassionreport ...

Saw this one

Pic: abtw ...

Nice green, indeed. [nt]

It's not surprising

 By: Boris : September 1st, 2020-19:10
Those pictures seem taken under a very bright light, like you would find in a display booth. I expect the color to be far more muted in normal light conditions. Same goes with the blue on my DJ 36, which is like royal blue under direct sunlight, and a nav...

Very playful and smart business strategy here

 By: WH_ : September 1st, 2020-03:18
Clear differentiation between entry level oyster and date just. Good understanding of the young first time buyer, them being younger, more playful. Mitigating risk of doing such aggressive dials on the more serious Datejust/DayDate lines, and upset their ...

After the Sub, I’d fancy seeing the red, yellow and turquoise 36mm OPs.

 By: Metachronous : September 1st, 2020-05:14
I was never that enamoured by any of the Stellas, but I’d like to see these new funky colours in the metal. They might be a hit with younger/millennial enthusiasts/fashionistas!

I think for the Stellas there were some really striking pieces and many that weren’t that appealing.

 By: Jay (Eire) : September 2nd, 2020-03:46
Mainly because the cases were almost always YG, then some in RG and very very in WG. Any Stella I’d seen in WG was appealing to me, the colours just generally worked better on a white metal whereas on the coloured metals some coloured dials were amazing a...

Hi Jay

 By: Mr.Gatsby : September 1st, 2020-22:59
Fully agree that the OPs are probably the most interesting this year. I would have loved a 39mm option, but given the current avails I will opt for 41mm. 36mm feels a bit too vintage so I’ll leave that as is. With a modern Rolex I think a larger case size...

The Turquoise definitely seems to be the popular choice. I agree with the QPR comment.

 By: Jay (Eire) : September 2nd, 2020-03:44
People seem to be saying, after seeing the Subs in the metal, that the overall result of the various changes is not simply a 1mm increase. The balance has improved, and perhaps on the wrist the watch may look better (subjective of course). For me, the cas...
