Sorry but I don’t understand what your contention is

 

If you are saying this is a strategy to protect against weak demand at some unknown time in the future then I don’t understand it. There are many ways to adjust supply to meet demand without having to lose massive revenue while the market is strong.

As someone else said, maybe they just don’t care about increasing profits and have made a decision to make a certain amount of watches per year and that’s it. Just not sure why they don’t decrease production of less desired models and make more of the ones for which demand is strong. Then again, I studied philosophy and law and not economics, so what do I know.
