Upper east side is certainly not a high crime area but when it comes to stealing luxury goods from defenseless people I can't think of a better place in NYC.
Just saying, no one is scoping out the dive bar around the corner from me on the lower east side for a snatch and grab of rolexes and jewelry....

As has been said, I would think that the thieves would be on camera somewhere. I just hope that the NYPD hasn’t been stripped of the resources needed to pursue the matter.

I know those grey market dealers will go to all sorts of lengths to get Rolexes, but this is too far!

I had long changed my watch wearing habits when in certain countries but the last two years or so I’ve also adjusted my habits in the US. This is one of several similar incidents in Manhattan in the last few months.
