I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Midtown at night is not the best place to be wearing something flashy, but you’d be fine in other (more residential) parts of Manhattan. It is surprising that this happened on 60th/mad though. It’s a busy block with three high end restaurants. Still, I’d say this is more exception than rule.

As has been said, I would think that the thieves would be on camera somewhere. I just hope that the NYPD hasn’t been stripped of the resources needed to pursue the matter.

I know those grey market dealers will go to all sorts of lengths to get Rolexes, but this is too far!

I had long changed my watch wearing habits when in certain countries but the last two years or so I’ve also adjusted my habits in the US. This is one of several similar incidents in Manhattan in the last few months.
