Rolex

I consent for these reasons ...

Sir Edmund Hillary was a real person, i.e. he lacks the (artificial) charisma of movie characters and is muss less to see on the screen as they are. Besides he grew old whereas the actors stay forever young if we watch them in their old movies smile.

Pussy Galore was a fictional character, a lady pilot, but I did not even know she wore a GMT Master, did she? In the end, Bond dashed her in the hay by  a special grip and "conquered" her.

James Bond is a, probably THE, fictional character with the longest history in film so far, or am I wrong? (King Kong is something different, ok smile)
Who could be compared to him? Saved the world ever so often, escaped his omnipotent enemies ever so often, was enchanting the most beautiful women all over the world, was equipped with the best gadgets available, including some spectacular watches. So: who could take it on with him?

Likewise the Submariner is the most versatile of the Rolex series: the black bezel/black dial combination makes it easy to wear with virtually any clothing style and colours except probably a very formal suit (but even that is possible).
The GMT Master with the Pepsi bezel is less complicated with regard to colours. The black bezel is different of course.
The Explorer is a simple, straightforward watch which is versatile as well, but lacks the sporting charme of the Submariner.

In conclusion, both Bond and the Submariner are quite special characters!
