Incoming and my first Sub. Please pardon the poor image. I'll post better pics once it arrives.
They look so good all worn in.
Hi Nicolas,
lovely vintage Rolex combination of yours and a challenging question for us!
My favourite is James Bond and the Submariner (sea); actually it was this association that brought me to overcome my "Rolexophobia"
.
My second best candidate would be the Explorer (earth), which I value for its straightforward, clear design. I would propose this Bond pic to underline the earthy character:

Very grim determination on his face, the villain provocatingly laid-back.

Bond fighting underground in a missile silo (from "The World is not enough"). Sorry for the Omega on his wrist
On the contrary: most of my quality watches are Omegas and virtually all of my vintage ones.
The "sorrry" was a smiling comment to Nicolas´ post in the Rolex forum, that I "spoilt" with this non-Rolex pic
.

Best regards,

Sir Edmund Hillary was a real person, i.e. he lacks the (artificial) charisma of movie characters and is muss less to see on the screen as they are. Besides he grew old whereas the actors stay forever young if we watch them in their old movies
.
Pussy Galore was a fictional character, a lady pilot, but I did not even know she wore a GMT Master, did she? In the end, Bond dashed her in the hay by a special grip and "conquered" her.
James Bond is a, probably THE, fictional character with the longest history in film so far, or am I wrong? (King Kong is something different, ok
)
Who could be compared to him? Saved the world ever so often, escaped his omnipotent enemies ever so often, was enchanting the most beautiful women all over the world, was equipped with the best gadgets available, including some spectacular watches. So: who could take it on with him?
Likewise the Submariner is the most versatile of the Rolex series: the black bezel/black dial combination makes it easy to wear with virtually any clothing style and colours except probably a very formal suit (but even that is possible).
The GMT Master with the Pepsi bezel is less complicated with regard to colours. The black bezel is different of course.
The Explorer is a simple, straightforward watch which is versatile as well, but lacks the sporting charme of the Submariner.
In conclusion, both Bond and the Submariner are quite special characters!

You've got all the bases covered with those three beauties.
Cheers, Pete

James for ever!
You know that I love diver watches, and this 5508 is just awesome!
But I´d be really happy with any of them
Best hermano.
Lobato, Emilio Lobato
Chuck Yeager on the Rolex side and Buzz Aldrin on the Omega side, since they are real people and both watch brands have been featured in Bond films and whatnot also.
See what happens after sampling a glass of Pinot Noir and one of Moscato? Wheee! Thanks! =X^{o> ooooh la la.....
