Very nice watches, they look fantastic.
Vte
My answer to your question is yes...all of them. However....
Which watch is the coolest watch in the world?
No question....for cool.... no question. I don't even need to say. Jeff knows. When you get one on the wrist, even you felt the power!! The Jedi's light saber.
But....What is the top dog for me? These explorers are awesome watches to wear. The Explorer II with its orange hand, or as per your question one of the truly original 6610s...especially one with red writing.... there is something about them. A collection "needs" one for sure. Then of course you have the Subs, SDs and DRSDs. Put a 666 on your wrist and tell me that there isn't something very special about it...or a 1665....they have soul for sure, as does the 007. Indeed...
It is a well known fact that when you put a DRSD Mk1 or Mk2 on the wrist, you become more attractive to women (hard to imagine, I know, but true), your IQ rises by 30%, and almost certainly you can leap tall buildings in a single stride. My favourite... yes probably.... not much tops a Mk1 or Mk2 DRSD.
But the coolest watch in the world is definitely a Paul Newman. Everyone knows that.....
Superbly written, my friend.
I can feel all your enthusiasm on these Vintage Rolex!
Oooh yes, your PN is really attractive, dangerous tempting and powerful.
There are nights when I wake up, febrile, haunted by it!
I never knew that the DRSD Mk I ir II can be fatal with ladies, that is a very interesting " technical " input.
You will have to let me try, next time we meet!
To be honest, I tried to put in the spotlight some pieces which are generally underated when we speak about special Vintage Rolexes.
Best, my friend.
Nicolas
And, for sure, the Sub.
I mean the Vintage ones, of course the moderns.
No need to apologize, it is not that evident!
Best,
Nicolas
Although probably more Steve McQueen as the Explorer 2 1655 is still the watch I remember as a kid, and still the one I lust after now.

In love with '64 watches!
So you're a Sub Guy?
Cool one, Sir.
Best,
Nicolas.
Most of the answers focus on celebrities, when you focus on your childhood, and you're absolutely right!
Well, I guess that when others refer to James Bond, they also refer to a part of their childhood.
But the Explo II so called Freccione has something more, compared to these " Holy Birds ": an original look.
It doesn't look like any other Rolex, indeed.
Now that you mentionned it, I feel guilty to not have put it in thise selection, as I'm strongly in love with it, too.
Best,
Nicoals
Well, heeeerm... Yes, my watch!
Best,
Nicolas
Difficult, if not impossible to choose, but if you point at me with a Walther PPK, then the choice would be obvious...
Fuerte abrazo, hermano!
