Conflicted

As a buyer, clearly, I would prefer if the AD sold the watch at list.  From the other side, though, it would be irrational to sell an item for anything less than the market price.  A business takes a fair amount of inventory risk, etc., and the profit from a Daytona can allow you to sell other, less profitable watches as well.

Bottom line, it may seem slimy, but your anger would be better aimed at the fools who happily shell out 30k (30k??  I mean, seriously??) extra for a watch to buy it at a specific store/location.

For 30k you should hop onto a plane and fly to the UK (weak British pound!), stay a night in London and pick up a nice suit to go with the watch.  You'd still have some money left over to pay for flowers for the very angry wife.
