A contagious box ๐Ÿ“ฆ arrived today ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Jan 24, 2019,09:46 AM

This has haunted me since reading Joeโ€™s reports on identifying future classics...

Finding one in the US is not easy and Iโ€™ve no confidence getting one from overseas, cannot imagine the difficulty in dealing if the transaction or watch has issues.

This is also my first transaction through the famous C platform.

First impression, watch is lighter than the modern Rolexes I have. Bracelet is also โ€œclingyโ€ and feels thin. Seller did say watch was slightly polished so I assume it was the bracelet.

Bezel doesnโ€™t turn for this model?

Serial number matches to the rehaut which is a good sign but note to other members who are still looking, warranty card may say itโ€™s a 14060 instead of 14060M. This is true for quite a few other listings which we know it has to be a 14060M.

As at yesterday, out of ~280 (14060 or 14060M) listings, only 6-7 has this LGF in the 4-liner, so definitely something relatively rare.

Thank you Joe for the contagious ๐Ÿ˜ท posts ๐Ÿ˜Š

First and foremost....congratulations! The 14060 as a reference is a very cool watch. It has all the mod cons of a modern watch but it has the DNS of a vintage piece. A no-date Submariner with a vintage feel. For this reason itself, you have a very cool w...

Thank you for the guidance Joe ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

Next Iโ€™ll bring to a watch maker to see the movement if it is the 3130.

Congrats and welcome to the LGF club! :)

The bezel should be able to rotate. Lighter than modern versions, of course - this one don't have the maxi case. Best Blomman

Thank you Blomman...

It is very tight and I was able to turn CCW. Is it bidirectional? Iโ€™m so hesitant to force it. Pls advise ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

also often quite stiff to rotate [nt]

Itโ€™s my first dip into the not so modern Rolex. Hope this opens up new opportunities and not rabbit holes ๐Ÿคฃ Thank you Mr Green ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

Congratulations!

Itโ€™s a super cool watch with an extra charm to put a smile on your face. Welcome to the family!

Iโ€™m slowing feeling the charm...

It fits into my Rolexes, as I have only Land and Air, now I have a Sea. Thank you ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

Congratulations!

It is a lovely, lovely Submariner no date! Some say the 14060M is the last of the best, and we can top this statement by owning a LGF ๐Ÿ˜€! Yes, the watch feels light and thin and the bracelet makes a little boise but that is part of its charm. My daily best...

It is also lighter and Iโ€™m guessing the SS is 316 instead of 904?

The no date part is good. Good to know my feelings are not isolated, still need to get the watch verified since I bought it unseen....but even if seen now, I still need confirmation although all indications looks great ๐Ÿ˜Š Thank you for the info too Moritz....

It is 904 steel, if I am not wrong

You did very well! I noticed that a LGF is not that often on offer in he US, for some reason.

I also noticed that, only 2-3 in US.

The smaller case and bezel also explains the weight differences.

BAM, another jumps on the train

Congratulation for your successful hunting. Itโ€˜s still not easy to find a 14060M LGF. Youโ€˜ll find a lot of satisfaction in wearing it ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Thank you...need some time getting used to the thin and flimsy bracelet ๐Ÿ˜‚

Watch is not with me today but hereโ€™s a picture. ...

So far so good, from all web reviews on 14060/M and here. Watch still keeping good time for the few hours I wore it....
