Richard Mille

Crash Course requested - Thoughts on 002, 003

Hi -

This might be one of my first posts in the RM forum.  I havent really visiting here all that much.  RM is a brand which I have always admired and do love the quality these watches have.  Richard himself is an extremely cordial guy - I met him a few times this past SIHH at the Four Seasons hotel bar - An extremely generous man.

I'm familiar with the different versions and models - functions etc.  But what I would like to know is - are there any estimates at to annual production?  I have heard this number of only 70 base movement tourbillons are produced by R&P each year and RM watchmakers finish them off, add complications etc.

So, are these 70 movement for the entire product line?  Or 70 movements for each model within the line?

If this is the case, are there only 500 or so RM tourbillons in existance to date?

Secondly, what you would feel is the "classic" RM watch?  Would it be the 05, 10? or a tourbillon like the 02 or 03?

What are the service intervals for these watches?  Has anyone had trouble with theirs?

I have always been concerned that in 30 years when I want to give a watch to my son it will break and there will be no more carbon fiber left in the universe.  Anyone else have these fears?  Is this "normal" when stepping into a watch of this caliber?

If you had to choose between the 02 or 03 - which one and why?

I like the 02 because it is as clean as these watches get and truly shows the baseplate and tourbillon without any additional complication on top.

I like the 03 becasue ifs a real world functional piece - 2 time zones and date make it a great travel/vacation watch.  My only concern is that the watch may look too complicated for what it is.

Anyway- any RM expert out there feel like sharing any insight to this great brand would be most apprecaited.

Best,
