Ps: the Aquanaut has not at all the same case. It is a totally different construction! That‘s why it has no ears, they are not needed here!

To your question, my thinking is that Aquanaut has the same case as Nautilus except the ears. It differs in dial and rubber strap. Cubitus is quite different in terms of the shape of the case but has same bracelet. IMO, this truly octagon shape is a bit d... 

The only issue I have with this release is the price…if this was suppose to be the new “sports” entry watch, $40k for a SS watch is priced way above entry level. I guess Calatrava is the new entry level for Patek…

and very thorough post. Appreciate your research. Nothing about this watch compels me. That being said I am happy that many are fond of it. I’m sure they will be quite pleased owning and wearing it.

I have the 5131 set and did not feel that the push button was wobby. If you do not like the crown guard, you should check out 5230 without the grown guard.

My difference in sentiment between the Cubitus and Code are due to several factors, 1) my Patek collection is more than AP and hence my understanding of each of the brand is not equal, 2) when Code first came out, I did not own any AP at that point and my...

Thank you for another informative article. Patek coming out with this totally unexpected shape is acceptable for me. If it comes out with something similar to Nautilus or Aquanaut, there would still be strong criticisms anyway…probably saying Patek can’t ...

As said i have seen and tried the Cubitus, and i believe it is not as nice as the original nautilus drawing. Looks big even for me Bit lazy as such, so for the moment i m still voting for the Nautilus ( waiting for one ) and will not change for a cubitus....

I finally managed to try the cubitus.. the 1AR version.. I didn’t like how it looked on my wrist - was way too big.. Perhaps a smaller size would look better

The size is an issue for many. Let’s see when smaller sizes might be released. Perhaps for W&W in 2025 ? If smaller size, which one would you want ?

a smaller size would work better for this design I suspect the vertical and horizontal dial dimensions of the dial (eg measuring just the crystal from 12 to 6 and 9 to 3) is the same between the nautilus and cubitus.. you can see the date window of the 1A...

I like the 5821/1A - 001 and 5821/1AR - 001. I decided to ask for a 5821/1A-001 as I own a 5980/1AR-001 I think they could have done better by incorporating Grand date to all models and not only to the 5822P

complement your 5980/1AR well. What do you like about the Cubitus ? Please show photos of double-wristed when you receive the watch.

As for Cubitus… can’t understand the fuss around it. Looks like a regular PP product not better or worse than the rest (didn’t try in metal, so can judge only by the photos/videos). The only real drawback is that they don’t use a square movement. But for ... 

Would you want to hunt one down ? Also, please comment once you have had an opportunity to see Cubitus in the metal.

My wrist is about 16.5cm just for reference. I did not care for the Cubitus at all when I saw photos upon release but I changed my mind while handling one. It's sits so nicely on the wrist and there's a lot to take in visually even for a simple 3 hander. ...

…and I applaud Patek for pushing innovation and trying to widen its target demographs, it’s not my cup of tea personally. I might have a different opinion if my wrist size had more real estate to support it, however. But the other thing that bugs me about...
