Still not choosing to keep a 45mm diameter, they could have made it 38mm too! 
In fact I think the only serious reproach I've read about the gorgeous 5070 is the relatively small size of its calibre. Maybe this reproach confirmed Patek Philippe to respect its rules of size.
The question I would have is: do you think the 5070 would have been as successful if it had been made in 39mm ? Was it successful because of its design or because it was a rare opportunity to acceed to a brand new "simple" Patek Philippe chronograph (housed in a beautiful case behind a superb dial)?

I noted something that seemed to be an anomaly, though: did they really try to tell you that watch size is dictated by movement size? If so, they seem to be giving themselves quite a lot of leeway with some of the new models.
