Why do people buy at auction houses ?
A few days ago I made this post on the horological meandering,
This time it's about a Patek so I post it here
Yesterday at Christies ...
A 5070 in platinum, a great watch no doubt ... but why would one pay 40% ABOVE today's marketprice ? I really don't get it. Look at some sites we all know and you'll find a few of these 5070P around EUR 100K. Why does somebody want to pay EUR 140K for a watch all of us can find at 100K ?
