Patek Philippe

brief thougths

well.

I've purchased things from auction houses before (not of this price range!).
but some things, are that it supposedly is a 'clean' watch/ Not stolen, etc.
then, people liek the experience of purchasing at acutions.
Then there are things like serial numbers, and year of production, dial combination, or whatever.

so basically, those who buy have the $ to buy, and depending on the auction house, if you relist a
watch you've purchased through them, they give you discounts on their house fees, so it could
be related to 'investment' security, etc...

I personally buy watches through some auction houses (german ones) because they tend
to find really amazing pieces that rarely see the day in other venues. So I do willingly pay
a premium smile
Its the same as any great vintage watch store, they're able to source amazing watches, and
they set their prices accordingly.

so I wouldn't put this in a negative perspective at all.
