Patek Philippe

What I mean is that

I have managed quite well to buy watches even I do not consider them perfect.

Let me take an example. Ref. 5960P was introduced in 2006. It did not turn me on at all. Sometimes around 2014 I started to look at it with "new eyes" and ended buying in 2015 5960/1A. This watch was so close to perfection that I quickly bought also 5905P-010. I enjoy both watches really a lot and even now, after Ester church, I'm wearing 5905P. But: I enjoy even more 5960 but would not give away 5905. The Easter time I have considered if I should buy also 5960P-001 (=grey dial).

What I'm trying to explain is that it took me 10 full years to learn to appreciate the design, combination of complications and the total execution. That characteristic represents to me what Patek is all about. With some other brands I have been attracted on the first sight but after a while they do not "speak" to me anymore. The overall design was too "obvious". Often, but not always, there is some hidden complexity in Patek's watches and some time is needed to understand and appreciate the same.

Best, Kari
