I know this question has been asked before but which you would buy 5712-1a or 5980-1a ? I'll be honest I currently have a 5980-1a which has been in Patek for almost 1 month for service. They are expecting to have the watch back in 4-5 months. I'm having a very hard time without it and want to get something in the meantime and If it turns out I like it more I will sell my 5980 when it returns. I'm not a patient person.

and I am no exception. The "original" Nautilus and a sport watch should be made of something durable like ss or carbon etc. Very comfortable and well made bracelet. Gold for dress watches. Look at the secondary market pricing, it reflects the situation.

Since you already have 5980 1A ss I suggest you go for a rose gold. I agreed that nautilus is more a steel image but the rose gold 5712 on straps looks Awesome You wouldn't go wrong with either ss or rg you will love the 240 cal. Good luck. Regards, Randy...
