Another vote for the SS...
Anything other than the SS is just a variant of the original Nautilus watch that came out in 1976.
The Nautilus is supposed to be a sports watch and hence better off in steel to withstand the rigors of daily use.
On the other hand, there is the Calatrava or Gondolo model for those elegant moments requiring a fine dress watch in precious metal.

and I am no exception. The "original" Nautilus and a sport watch should be made of something durable like ss or carbon etc. Very comfortable and well made bracelet. Gold for dress watches. Look at the secondary market pricing, it reflects the situation.

Since you already have 5980 1A ss I suggest you go for a rose gold. I agreed that nautilus is more a steel image but the rose gold 5712 on straps looks Awesome You wouldn't go wrong with either ss or rg you will love the 240 cal. Good luck. Regards, Randy...
