In fact I don't consider an Aston Martin as more sophisticated than a 911.
An Aston Martin is certainly rarer and more exotic, consequently adding a certain charm of exclusivity even greater than a 911, but a 997 GT3 is for me more sophisticated than any "normal" Aston Martin (V8, DB9 or DBS), being a true racing car on the road. A 911 Turbo is for me as exceptional as a DB9, while the "simpler" 911 models, S or not, are quite comparable to the V8 Vantage.
In fact it was not the case 20 years ago, when the V8 saloon was a truely rare and unique marvel, but since the DB7 launch Aston Martin is no longer so exclusive, while the cars are certainly much better for the general audience (I still like them but I love them less as you understand).
It's also a matter of taste of course.
