Since it is past 20:00 PM - Paris time, hope we can speak about CH29-535P openly now ;-)

CH29-535PS in reference 7071
...being just announced moments ago at a big gala event in Paris.
Here are some specs.
Height - 5.35mm
Diameter - 29.6mm
Power reserve- 65hrs (58 hrs when chrono is engaged)
I am sure more info and pictures will follow later tonight or tomorrow once the press release is out.
Patek Philippe decided to use this new completely in-house made caliber for the
first time in company history - in a ladies watch (model 7071)

While the introduction of this revolutionary caliber in a ladies watch is not something that a majority of
forum hopping WIS enthusiasts expected - it is still a MAJOR point in the history of Patek Philippe.
With gradual elimination of Nouvelle Lemania ebauche based calibers (references 5020, 5070, 5970, 5004 etc),
and the introduction of a first in house automatic chrono in 2006 (CH 28-520 IRM QA 24H) in 5960P.....this was
something that many PP collectors were awaiting for a long time.
Now I am sure many more questions will pop-up.
Are we going to see a first mens model with this new caliber in Basel 2010 or will it be later ?
I am not expecting a huge discussion regarding this actual ladies watch, but would love to hear your thoughts
about this new caliber. While I am still waiting for more details coming later from a press release, the above
picture of this new caliber (albeit small) impresses me a lot.
What are your thoughts ?

The movement does look beautiful for sure. This launch, however, leaves me disappointed. Why? Because I can't wear this watch. I can visualise the men's version, and that has me salivating, but having worked myself into expecting a men's chrono today, I n...

1. Kinda surprised that they stuck with the traditional, linear clutch although it appears that the intermediate wheel completly disconnects when the chrono is stopped, which is nice, reduce load on the movement when the chrono is not engaged 2. really su...

I think you should reconsider your opinion Tim ;-) Like said, imagine this watch without the diamonds and make it 5 mm bigger It's a style we saw in the 1920's - 1930's this is a similar looking piece and I like this We don't know what case they will use ...
Agree!

Lovely movement, as expected from Patek... but a masculine looking chronograph dial, with a square case, and diamonds? Urrgh.... Hopefully the men's version is much better. Otherwise this release will become the most overhyped one in the PP forum in a lon...

Patek loves building anticipation. Give it to the ladies - make the men want it more. Or - Patek loves screwing with "us". "Normal" people dont think like us. We arent the only people who buy watches. I'm sure some fashion mag will print that this is the ...
I like it!

I am not super-knowledgeable about the evolution of movements but from an aesthetic point of view, i like this new watch. i especially like that the diamonds are INSIDE the class. i am always concerned that if they are subject ot nature's bumps/taps one m...

firm message underlying the notion that things will be shaken up now that the younger Stern is the man in charge. I think its a masterpiece move, creating even MORE buzz for the brand. Looking forward to Basel 2010!
