my uncle had a similar problem
He has always been a patek fan, and he only wanted a minute repeater from them, nothing more nothing less..
He came close to buying one about 4 years ago, but he decided to use that money to start building a house for his son instead.
This year for his 64th birthday he got himself the minute repeater, and only after he was 100% sure that he would not have needed to spend that money on his children (paying for tuition, houses, weddings, etc..) , sure it did take him 30 years to finally buy it, but he enjoys every second wearing it while hes with his family. Atleast thats what he told me 
Although we all love watches I believe that family should always come first and you should not risk it for the sake of buying a watch. After all Patek has survived all these years, and i dont think in 10, 20, or even 100 years theyll ever go out of business. What im trying to say is that you can get it when ever you want, even today. But you should think, can i really afford to keep that amount of money away from my family? Its all up to you, if you do decide on buying it, id love to see some pictures
