Patek Philippe

Manufacture costs

Regarding the cost of manufacturing the watch, that MSRP takes into consideration manufacture costs + research and development + facility costs + overhead, etc. I bet Patek spent more than 300k researching and developing the parts and movement for that watch, so while the manufacture cost is not 300k, Patek needs to make that money back and fund other projects.

Putting aside the cost of the watch, this is a relatively affordable minute repeater from one of the finest watch manufactures. You can probably recover most of the cost if you want to sell it or trade up.

Something to also consider are service costs. Similar to higher end sports cars, the purchase price may only be the beginning of ownership.

If you can get the watch at MSRP - 10%, that seems like a rather good deal. Especially considering what you need to purchase in order for your application to be approved.
