Good points - I did consider insurance and maintenance, those unfortunately are just part of my reality already although they would escalate dramatically in this case.
A much more real issue is the fear of wearing the watch, not so much for fear of theft as insurance is there for that, but fear of damage. That is actually one of the reasons I like the 5078P - the platinum case is better for refinishing and daily use compared to gold. So my hope would be to not worry about the hairlines and natural patina that will occur because of the ability to refinish quite easily.
I've been a victim of grail paralysis in the past so this is a very real possibility.
