Patek Philippe

I understand

I understand your points Mark. And yes, they're completely valid.
But something about a 42mm Patek (which is not the 5070) somehow "clashes" with my own views of PP. Subtlety, discretion, slipping under a shirt cuff - not quite so possible with a 42mm watch.
If tastes require more size, will we see ever bigger watches from Patek.
What I'm saying here is, I really don't want Patek to become a company which follows trends. This makes it's products "vulnerable" to changing fashions and tastes and can kill the "timeless" aspect of a Patek (no pun intended!). People are still buying the very "small" 3940 today - it's pure Patek - which oddly, the 5140 which is a little 'closer' to today's fashions for a bigger piece, is not so pure. Can you see what I mean?
The 5905 (especially in blue) is a beautiful watch, but I hope it's not a sign of things to come!
