5905 would be my choice....
Firstly, i don't think there is a wrong choice here. Having said that.....
The 5905 has a lovely complication......that degree of complexity wins me over a lot. In fact, it would be a decisive factor for me.
Future value is always tricky....i certainly have no crystal ball. I would say, genuinely, nobody on this forum does. What that means is that you need to evaluate which of the two REALLY calls to you as a watch you need on your wrist.
For me, the 5905 wins by a margin....but i certainly would not think the 5170 was a bad choice.

5905P in blue dial
Annual calendar, can be dressed up or down and the blue dial is beautiful.
Both are great watches.
But I personally like the 5170 more because of the movement and manual wind, as well as the aesthetic of breguet numerals and leaf hands. I certainly appreciate the argument for the AC but this 5170 is just my preference. Good luck.

The 5170 case leaves me a little bit cold, and i would much prefer the 5905P. The 5170 case is a little too thin, and does not have the heft of the P. Good luck!
