I have to agree
the real allure of the 6007 is having it where not many can. Were it in standard production, few would probably buy it as it lacks Patek DNA and so closely resembles three or four other watches especially the JLC. The 5212 now that is something really desirable on its owns merits.

Collected my 6007A today. I also had a black calf skin strap fitted to my 5212A. 6007A is a very beautiful watch and it is much better in real life compared to the photos. However if I can have only one steel Calatrava it will be the one on the right. Out...

First of all, huge congrats on your 6007A.
I prefer 6007A. It’s a modern and sporty looking Calatrava. I really dislike the font of 5212A; the complication is nice though. Best, V.

The 5212A
for the lovely egg shell white patina on the dial, for the gorgeous lugs, for the typo of the days of the week and months resembling handwritten typo, for being on my wrist a lot of the time!

If I had to pick one of these two, it would be the 5212 without a doubt.
I had a similar conversation with my AD sales manager. He said if 6007 was in white gold and standard production not many would buy it.
They had a 6000G-012 which they could not sell for at least 2 years.
I had the 5522 at retail...the most boring watch I could own...I realised I fell into the trap of buying for exclusivity
And not desire (already had 5524 and thought be nice pair)...I then passed it back at retail...silly I know but allowed me to take the moral high ground...the 6007 is the same....the 6000 is a great watch....do I desire one....not particularly....
Agree, but IMO exclusivity might be a plus *only* after we like a given watch...also because at a certain stage of collecting, you can obviously be selected by the brand for "many" limited/special editions anyway.
Do you also buy at US ADs? Your gesture to give back at retail the 5522 after you realized you didn't like it was *great* --- should actually be the norm, but alas, you are probably an exception! ;-) Cheers.
