The dial of the 5196P is the epitome of a dress watch and hence it should be paired with a black or dark blue strap. The tan strap although intended to give the watch a more casual work does not suit this particular watch in my opinion.
Not bad, but
personally, I would prefer a darker brown, possibly even together with a suede strap. Just my very personal taste. But you asked for it 🤷🏻♂️☺️ Best Thomas

However, in all honesty, any fine leather strap in any colour/texture, will suit this Calatrava!
I think it works well if you want to go for a really casual, vintage look.
On this sublime 5196P, I personally would stick to dark tones such as chocolate or navy.

Some might say otherwise, but you don't need those kind of people in your life. This looks superb! The 5196P is far more at home on this than it is on black alligator.
