New to Omega @ Purist
Hi all,
Just like a friend of mine who has been trolling Purist for a couple of years, I would consider myself new too. I have posted on the Collectors' MarketPlace before, but never ventured to place my collection on any of the other fora. Perhaps it was because I didn't feel as though I was a pro? Perhaps ashamed of my photography skills (or lack of)? Perhaps I am just shy
.
But my friend posted his maiden post featuring a not-often-seen Union a week or two ago, and he told me that the response had been nothing but heartwarming - each time he received a response, his heart missed a beat. What would you expect - his heart was not COSC-rated!
I have started collecting vintage Omegas just a couple of years ago, as an 'upgrade' of sorts from collecting Seikos. (I wish there was a Seiko brand forum here...). Not that Seikos are any lesser in quality, but after collecting the vintage automatic Seiko chronographs and divers that I wanted, I thought I ought to look at Swiss. Omega was suggested by another good friend of mine, and he began to extol the virtues of the Railmaster, Speedmaster, Seamaster holy trinity, the Ploprof, the flightmaster, etc and I got hooked.
Ok, enough chatter, here are some pictures.
MY FIRST OMEGA - Speedmaster Mark III (ST 176.0002)
MY SECOND OMEGA - Seamaster 120 "Big Blue" (ST 176.0004)
MY THIRD OMEGA - Flightmaster Cal.910 - First Generation (ST 145.0013)
MY FIRST OMEGA ALARM - Seamaster Memomatic (ST 166.0072)
Will post a couple more soon (the early CK2913/2914/2998s, Darth & Anakin, Bullhead and my favourite...).
I would like to hear from other vintage Omega collectors out there about your collection too!
Cheers,
Elveez
