You know what I always thought would work?
A 40mm Luminor with a domed bezel, 3-6-9-12 sandwich dial maybe gold hands, minimal text on the dial. Just a solid workhorse movement and solid case back. A streamlined bracelet so that we keep the overall look of it more svelt and in line with other classic sports watches. This would’ve been the perfect watch for me — an everyday “beater” that I can wear to “war” every Monday to Friday in the office. I know some would think this is blasphemous given that the original dive watches were 47mm…Italian navy, frogmen, wetsuits and riding submersibles. But it’s a different setting these days… concrete jungles and three button wool suits. The only time we ever get wet is when temperatures rise above 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Oh how I hate the effects of global warming.

Agreed. I would be very interested in such a model, especially with a solid caseback.
My wrists are not small (7.25 inches), but 45mm or 47mm is just too big for my comfort and simply too unsubtle. Cheers, John

I feel they have exhausted the 47/45mm format
If they want to grow as a brand they need to consider alternatives. I was not a potential customer and now I am as a result of their diversification, there are no shortage of giant pam's out there to keep the traditionalists happy.

Initially I was also drawn to the simplicity and large size of most Panerai models. When the 372 came out I sold my 176 to help pay for one (I miss that 176!). Eventually I realized that the 372
