Usually a date has no place!
I love dates. In fact, I need dates. But the problem that commonly arises is the same problem you project Nico. The date looks ugly. And on certain watches, for instance the Patek Philippe 5070, all of the Montblanc Villerets, and some really classic pieces, a date really has no place!
But today, you've really identified a watch, where the date is very well integrated into the dial of the watch. I hadn't given this a whole lot of thought on the Rieussec, but you're right, the way Montblanc integrated the date on this one is very elegant. No unnecessary arperture interrupting the dial. This date is well integrated.

It doesn't most often ruin the dial ( which is my main concern ), but it seems added to the dial. While, in this case, it is part of the dial; doesn't ruin anything, at the contrary, it enhances the beauty of the Watch, its coherence. A revelation for me....

I understand that the date window often destroys the aesthetics of the dial. IMHO, one of the most beautiful watch designs which fell to this trap was the Urban Jurgensen Perpetual. The way that the windows eat into the numerals...just can't get over it. ...
The Skeleton is a cool watch, for sure, but I still prefer the version I posted.
