100% agree with you. The date on a dial of any time only watch is in my opinion always out of place and without meaning. It especially ruins chronographs for me. IMO the date only makes sense on a triple date or perpetual / annual calendar (more so the latter).

It doesn't most often ruin the dial ( which is my main concern ), but it seems added to the dial. While, in this case, it is part of the dial; doesn't ruin anything, at the contrary, it enhances the beauty of the Watch, its coherence. A revelation for me....

I understand that the date window often destroys the aesthetics of the dial. IMHO, one of the most beautiful watch designs which fell to this trap was the Urban Jurgensen Perpetual. The way that the windows eat into the numerals...just can't get over it. ...
The Skeleton is a cool watch, for sure, but I still prefer the version I posted.
