before pricing their watches so if a hyper complicated watch seems expensive to us, there is a market out there that will ensure that these watches fly out of the window. Every brand has a right to show off what it can do and in so doing, it can price its ingenuity and technical innovation at any price it sees fit. That hyper complicated Reverso is not actually very wearable. Neither is Patek's Grandmaster Chime but the attraction is limitless and the demand immeasurable. As long as Jaeger continue producing models that are well within the reach of us mere mortals which they have done with the sublime green Tributo Small Seconds (which is enticing me to buy my first ever Reverso!), we should be happy. At a JLC dinner I attended last week, when shown a sneak preview of the Reverso Jump Hour, I actually remarked in front of the audience that the price was so cheap! Some may take me for a fool but the newly launched Chopard LUC Jump Hour costs more and with the JLC, one gets two dials. Yes agreed that the Chopard has arguably the better finished movement. Notice that many JLC Reverso limited editions in the past have been issued in 500 pieces but this latest jump hour is only in 190 pieces making it a rarer option. Yes I would definitely have bought one if it was not for its size - the inherent problem of a Reverso watches with complications.
