please help me understand...

Who is the "target" audience for the two new JLC showpieces...
the Quadriptyque at 1.35 million euros
the Nonantieme at US$40,500.00
Granted, there are many Uber-rich across the globe these days, and selling 10 Quadriptyques at full retail (I'm so sorry, Mr Musk, JLC does not take bitcoin and we do not discount nor trade) should put the 2021 books in the black, regardless of R&D costs, much faster than selling [X] watches at US$10,000.00, but is this the best business model for the Manufacturer?
I am not trying to be cheeky. Mme Renier, in her one and most known interview after her elevation to JLC CEO, stated her vision for JLC was to return to "belle horologie". Fair enough. But are there enough multi-millionaires/billionaires to make this a sustainable business plan?
Is it wise to leave the rest of us mortals either sad, disappointed or disillusioned given the wonderful history of the maker?
The major houses, now and then, always produce a showstopper piece to demonstrate their ongoing mastery of the trade, but they typically don't ignore their bread and butter trade either.
So again, I wonder what my fellow site members honestly believe, because I do not understand what JLC is presently thinking, and do not expect Le Sentier to explain its plan to us. Hence, I seek the wisdom of my colleagues here...
Regards, M
