sorry that I am so late responding. Work is hard at this moment and so I have been quite a lazy Purist these days.

It is a horrible thought to think about you loosing parts of your collection. If I recall how I miss a watch while it is away to service I get an aide how you might feel about loosing them to some crappy person forever.
On the other hand - and in the first place - I am so happy that no physical harm was danoe to you and that your family was not with you. Better they were saved from the experience if you could not be.
Yes you, are right telling yourself that it is "only" about material things. And maybe it helps to recall that our beloved watches are only things. Try holding on to this thought.
