I fell under the charm of this watch...
The dial is superb, and the small apertures are superb.
I was a bit surprised at first sight, then I had a closer look and loved them.
There is something nice to see through these apertures!
It is smart from JLC to have moved the hour dial on the right part, at 3, as you will have an easier look at the time when you wear it under your sleeve.
As always, the Duometre is a very well balanced watch, with this clear and neat separation of the complications.
To enhance the moonphase is a very nice idea.
Here, the Moonphase has the same importance than the Time, as it was the case in the first Duometre, with the Chronograph.
The ballet of the lighting second hand is always captivating, too.
As for the case, it is a Duometre, a classic, elegant one, with nice proportions, and a great finish.
A real ode to Horology.
But the Duometre is not only a nice watch, it is a smart one.
I love the idea, the concept behind the watch.
While a " force constante " woiuld have been much more expensive, JLC opted for an " amplitude constante " which allows, as you perfectly said it, the balance wheel to not be " polluted " by the other complications in work, nor the Time.
These Chronometric Virtues are only theoric, for the moment, but JLC will test them in the real world, and I can't want to know the results.
As the Cal 380, the Cal 381 is a pleasure to look at, to admire.
A Great Watch...
I'm just waiting for JLC to release it in white metal.
And to change this moonphase, of course, for a nicer and digner one.
This will be my next modern JLC.
Without any doubt.
Best,
Nicolas
